Clients often send evidence first by messenger. What feels simple in the chat becomes incomplete in the file: missing timestamps, truncated media, unclear speaker changes. Moving content out of WhatsApp therefore needs a deliberate export strategy.

A single photo without surrounding messages rarely shows who sent what when. For contested facts, teams should keep the chat export (text including message metadata) together with the media files. Screenshots alone are often incomplete and easy to challenge as a presentation.

Export relevant WhatsApp sections with date, time and participants and keep the raw export beside the PDF file. Without the time anchor the chain of proof weakens - even when screenshots look correct.

Export chat text and transferred files separately when portal limits bite - with a cross-reference in the schedule. Conversation context stays, without large images blowing the text PDF. Name both parts in parallel (date, chat, part A/B). The proof chain stays readable even when tech splits the pack.

Secure the raw export with a hash or at least file size and timestamp before you build the PDF file. If manipulation is later alleged, you have an early reference. That is not distrust of the team; it is proof protection.

WhatsApp material belongs in the matter file only with a traceable export: context, time, participants and complete attachments. Screenshots alone often fail. A fixed export standard prevents proof gaps that hurt at hearing.
